 We are Michala & Philip Main, we live with our family including our Huskies in Suffolk. Michala always wanted a husky but due to Philip being in the Forces we knew we would have to wait. Philip retired from the Forces in 2000. It was then we started looking for our first Husky. After researching all we could and many emails later we were introduced to Zena Thomas of Lyulf Siberian Huskies. Many questions from Zena later we were offered Hooch a rescue dog. A few weeks later Simba came along. Simba is Hooch's dad. We had a wonderful time seeing Zena and The Lyulf pack. She was extremely helpful with lots of advice. Upon leaving Zena's she asked" if we would have anymore", we told her "no 2 was what we were looking for" she laughed and said "they are like Gremlins once you have 1 or 2 they grow on you". This was so true as after 6 months we had another call from Zena asking if we would be interested in rescuing another from a friend, Tukii was retiring and Juliet was looking for a good home. After careful consideration and building bigger Kennels off to Kazachye Racing Siberians & Seppalaswe go. Tukii came home with us.

 The Siberian Husky has been described as a behavioral representative of the domestic dog's forebear, the wolf, exhibiting a wide range of its ancestors' behavior. They are known to howl, sing and talk rather than bark. Hyperactivity displaying as an overactive hunting drive, a characteristic of kenneled dogs, is often noticeable in dogs released from their captive environment for exercise - a behavior welcome in hunting dogs but not in the family pet. The frequency of kenneled Siberian Huskies, especially for racing purposes, is rather high, as attributed through the history of the breed in North America. A fifteen-minute daily obedience training class will serve well for Siberian Huskies. ] Siberian Huskies are a very stubborn and dominant breed of dog. Siberians need consistent training and do well with a "Nothing In Life Is Free" training program. They are extremely intelligent and after learning.

 The Siberian Husky is a remarkably healthy breed. When well cared for, the Siberian is relatively "maintenance free", outside of normal checkups and vaccinations
Hip Dysplasia
The incidence of hip dysplasia in Siberians is fairly low. However, breeding Siberians should, among other things, be OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) certified prior to breeding. OFA certification cannot be granted prior to 24 months of age. Conscientious efforts of breeders have kept the incidence of this condition low in the Siberian.
